Summer Reading Program 2011

The Rants Raves and Reviews Book Circle
(for kids ages 7-12)
will meet twice this summer!

 

Summer “Vacation & Travel” Book Circle
Wed. July 19th, 6-7pm
The Children’s Room of the Cumberland Library invites readers ages 7-12 to share their favorite “Travel” or “Vacation” themed books and write a book review for the Children’s Room blog .
Miss Debra will discuss her favorite books using “creative book talk” methods.


Kids Read Across Rhode Island Book Circle
Tuesday, August 2    6-7:30pm
 “Read and Discuss” Book Circle of the 2011
Kids Read Across Rhode Island book selection
Where the Mountain Meets the Moon, by Grace Lin

  Participants will read and review this book, as well as use watercolor paints to depict their favorite scene in the book. Receive a free copy of this book

Yes, I recommend this book. The book made me think and wonder all through the book. I was in shock during the book and I had to re-read it to really think if I read it right!

“Comet in Mooninland” by Tove Jansson

Genre: Fiction/Fantasy
The book inspired me and made me feel like someone grabbed me
and pulled me in to read more and more! It was very exciting, but a
little scarey. I love this book, it might look a little weird, but it was great!
